|
|
Basically, as I was in a workshop on sonnets this morning, I was asked to write one, as one might expect. So I did. Here it is;
The Raven rose though the feathers do fall
In Taranspike they found the Xetesk mage
Though another feather gone to heavens call
Caught by the blade; lost to the war they wage.
And so into the lands of the Wesmen
The Raven quest deep through Understone and past
To the distant city of Parve, and then
The dark Dawnthief is used to save the last.
But as the Raven turns to grey and ages
The more feathers they oft lose, fall, and shed
To be condemned to history’s beloved pages
The remaining search for their rest instead.
Therefore it comes that they are past their best,
Finally a home they find; the Ravens Rest. _________________ "Sometimes we must sacrifice everything we love for the ones we love, for without them, we would have nothing to sacrifice at all." |

Lovely stuff, thanks Cochin. I very much like the feathers falling analogy.

Did I say analogy? I meant, of course, metaphor.
You know I've always got those two confused. One of those blank spots for me, like which end of the battery is + and which -, and the definitions of polemic and didactic. Always have to look them up. Weird stuff.
Let us know exactly how close to 100% you got with your assignment, by the way. _________________ 'A human with a hand outstretched in friendship carries the fangs of a taipan in his palm.' A TaiGethen saying. |
