Hi there,
the map on the web is drawn in Campaign Cartographer which is a piece of software designed with gamers in mind. It isn't an art tool as such and what you've seen is the map I drew for myself to help when writing the novels. Professional artists have drawn the maps that appear in the books _________________ 'A human with a hand outstretched in friendship carries the fangs of a taipan in his palm.' A TaiGethen saying. |

Don't get me wrong. The map is great, but like you said, it just isn't an art piece.
And I do know CC3, it's just out of my leage in terms of costs. So, because the free version of a fantasy-mapper-software AutoREALM isn't that good, I just won't use any software-help until I finished drawing the map by hand. |

I now compared the map in the book to your online map, and I must say, that your map is much better. The one in the book is not accurate enough, you can't really find any place in the book... Sorry to say this, but you should definitely use other artists, or make them read the book first, so they include the IMPORTANT details... |
