Not quite the right place, but since this is a techie forum I thought I'd post it here.

I can't recommend Firefox 2.0 enough. Installed the final release version from Mozilla last night and it's great.

Not only do you get tabbed browsing, but when typing in a form (like a post on this forum) it does a spell check and underlines misspelt words in red as you type.

We had an IT woman in yesterday doing some training on some new software we're using, or will be once we get our heads around it, and she slated Firefox. Only when used with the stuff we're going to be used (creates HTML files for reports etc) and apparently the two won't marry up.

So we're stuck with Explorer I fear... maybe Microsoft got to her...

just got it this morning, some nice new features and personally i think a better looking basic skin. The spell check is pretty handy but to be quite honest i think most people use it now just to get away from damned IE

Drizzt, I suspect you're going to be using an asp.net application with SQL reporting services tagged on. In which case Firefox is not good at handling it.

Hardly surprising when asp.net is a Microsoft development tooled aimed specifically at IE 6 browsers. It doesn't always run so well in IE 5 either.

So it's not Firefox's fault really, just MS using browser specific code in their development language.

Oh I know - we have at least half the office using Firefox who'll now have to switch over to Explorer in order to use the reports. You should have heard the reaction from our IT Engineers. After a few minutes they were inventing bad language.

Have you tried IE tab add-on for Firefox? I use it for all my asp.net stuff and it works fine apart from when some types of popups are used.

Nah we've been told to use IE and live with the shame.

Doesn't make much difference really, just means we'll be able to track which sites people have been going onto again...

I have IE (the vista version with tabbed browsing) and the new firefox, I still use firefox, it is just better than IE in my opinion, I don't like having everything microsoft on my laptop/pc, which is why i recently installed linux, btw, has anyone got any experience with linux, cause I'm having some problems...

i have had a lot more problems with MSN and email since i installed it.

Hi Manty,

No major problems. Although downloading IE 7 and Firefox 2 on the same day probably wasn't a good idea in hindsight.

Firefox shouldn't mess with MSN too much but you will always have problems with asp.net applications in anything other than IE.

I also use Firefox, for the main reason that everyone else seems to use it, to spite Microsoft. The revolution is coming. I envisage a time when everything software wise will pretty much be open-source and in my opinion, it will be a golden age, a modern renaissance, a time of human interaction, progression and evolution.
