For anyone who has a fondness for old norse legends, tales and sagas, I'd recommend you get hold of the 'prose edda' by Snorri Sturluson. It was originally written hundreds of years ago and is basically the stories behind the old norse beliefs about the creation of the world and the exploits of the Gods (Odin, Thor, Loki and co) and various heroes like Sigurd the dragon-slayer.

Many of the legends you'll have heard before, many you may not have, but even as a simple reminder of the old stories from days of yore which got you grinning as a kid this is well worth picking up.

And if you want to read a little more into the themes... well, there's a lot there which may get you thinking if you read enough into them...

i found it to be a bit cookie cutter...they could have done way way more with the place.

Well, it was pretty amazing when it opened about twenty years ago, but hasn't moved on much since...

I prefer Dublin's Viking Experience - they have actors to talk you through the various elements of norse life and culture, so it's a bit more interactive and engaging.
