Hi welcome to the forum.
It is better to read the Chronclies first as then you get the relationships between the characters better.

I agree. It's better to read the Chronicles first before The Raven. Elfsorrow, the first of The Raven trilogy, is more like a continuation of events from NightChild of the Chronicles. 
These are really worth reading. I was so hooked I even missed lunch. Hihihi

Hi Lizzy, iarneelizabeth,
 Yay a very recent reply. definitely read them in order of books 1 to 3, the Legends being more tragic, prepare the tissue box. I actually saw Elfsorrow first while searching library databases and then i went backwards.
