I was well shocked the first time i read " A Storm of Swords". GRRM had spent an age building the world with various Kings and Kingdoms and with one feel swoop he butchered Robb Stark and his mother, destroyed his family and savaged the north!!!
I can remember sitting there saying "No" over and over again. It was nearly as devastating to me as when Ilkar died in Elfsorrow!
Jon Snow is now Lord Commander of the Nightwatch! How cool is that though i did forget he had fallen for a wildling girl so it was a surprise when i read them again.
Thats the joy of re-reading books there is so much to catch up with that so much gets forgotten |

I like reading Tyrion's chapters. He's always got something up his sleeve to get out of a situation.
And how venomous is Cersei?? When she warns Eddard Stark in the first book, well, it's almost like a warning to the reader as well about what's to come!
What happened to Robb shocked me. Like you say, Martin built these families and these characters and kingdoms were almost beginning and then... gone.
Mind, oh I forget his name now... Dany's brother who was killed by the horse lord... that was some death..!! _________________ Pagan Music |

his name was Viserys, and i agree molten gold on his head!!! ouch!
Tyrion is cool as well but i'm beginning to like Jamie's new persona. i wonder if he'll get all jiggy with Brienne of Tarth (i haven't finished A feast of Crows yet!) |

and i just found a note at the back of AFFC that says because the book was too big for 1 novel he's split it in half, and the chapters concerning the events not in Kings landing will be in the next book.
AAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!
(i was chapter hopping looking at the titles to see who was coming up!)
oh and i forgot to say i've had some good ideas about the Red Viper of Dorne for my D&D game that i'm running at the moment so that's cool too! |

Hehe... I've been avoiding the later stuff to make sure you didn't get any spoilers you didn't want.
Yes, it was the second half of this latest book though told on the same timeline but through different characters - Tyrion among them.
I like Jamie Lannister in the latter books. Certain events forcing him to evaluate who and how he is... he's going to be important. _________________ Pagan Music |

One thing i did notice on my chapter trawl last night is that he seems to be adding new players to the game.
I like the fact that now were seeing more about Dorne, because before it was just another one of the 7 Kingdoms.
plus i cant wait to see what happens with Brienne. She has just found out the lad on the horse following her is Pod Payne, Tyrions squire!! |

We'll be lucky to see Dance with Dragons before the summer. Plenty of Jon Snow and Tyrion and co in that one! _________________ Pagan Music |
