Hello everyone,
This is my first post. I am in kind of shock, what with Hirad dying and Erienne; and after all that they have been through. I have been on such an amazing journey.
When Hirad locked eyes with The Unknown and gave 'that smile' when Hirad knew it was the end will haunt me forever. And I had to read the small preceding bit when Ark suffocated Erienne to prevent her soul being taken about 4 times.
Leading up to this I always had hope that they all would survive. When they found out that Erienne wasn't dead, my hope grew. When I knew Sha Kaan was coming, my hope increased further. And then, and then.....
Wow!
Man, I could go on all night!! I have not yet read Ravensoul and I cannot think where it will go but anyway one last thing;
Is there any kind of merchandise for The Raven? Posters, artwork etc?
I would be grateful if you could let me know if there is.
Phew! |

Hi and welcome to the Forum.
No official Raven merchandise around but there are some fan art pictures linked to on a Forum post.
Maybe when the Raven books get made into a mini-series like Game of Thrones we'll see merchandise of similar quality.
I'll be saving up for an official replicate of Will's lockpicks. _________________ Member and President of the Will Begman Appreciation Society.

Welcome! It is a pretty cool ending, isn't it?! I think you will like Ravensoul so make a start on that soon! _________________ If you strike me down, I shall become more powerful than you can possibly imagine. |

Nope, no Mini-series it's just one of the many things on the Forumites wish list.
Try some of these links to past discussion (but be warned some people are very protective of Hirad)

Welcome to the forums Imwiththeraven. Thanks for your thoughts. I really appreciate you taking the time to post. The ending of Demonstorm was a tough one to write because of all those loved ones being lost but in the end, it was the right way to go. Glad you enjoyed it so much.
No TV or film interest currently (sadly). We've had various snufflings but nothing more. Still, the phone could go at any time _________________ 'A human with a hand outstretched in friendship carries the fangs of a taipan in his palm.' A TaiGethen saying. |

Well that is disappointing about the lack of a series or film. But I think it will happen one day Thanks for the reply James!!! I'm gonna tell everyone I know that you did!!!!
Malop, thanks for the links. I have looked at them. It amazes me how old they are. What was I doing when The Raven hit the shelves!!! It does prove that the books are still making ever increasing circles in the public domain.
I'm aware that Stephen King's Dark Tower is to be made into 3 films plus a TV series linking them imbetween. I think this would work with The Raven.
To recreate the battles in the skies of Beshra would be amazing. |

The problem with TV and film is that it is hugely expensive and that means the books are going to have to be massive sellers before producers take the plunge (unless they have a personal desire to see the books go to screen).
The Raven series has sold very well but not in the quantities of GRRM or Stephen King. That's life but if as you say the books are still getting into people's hands, then you never know. All it takes is one hugely influential producer to read and love Dawnthief and the dominoes will fall.
Until then, we wait and keep expectations at zero... _________________ 'A human with a hand outstretched in friendship carries the fangs of a taipan in his palm.' A TaiGethen saying. |

Thanks for the insight. I have heard that the Dark Tower plans are now off, so even this huge seller is no where nearer production.
I know the books are still getting into people's hands as you call it, I myself stumbled on Dawnthief when I asked a bloke at work what he was reading and he then lent me the first six books. He said he got them second hand from his son. I recommended them to a friend who bought the seven. Another friend is going to lend Dawnthief off the same bloke and my friend's brother is reading them also.
If you go on sales alone then I don't think that is no where near the actual number of people who have read the books. Above is a small example of how many people have read the books without actually buying them so multiply this on a national scale.........and it's lots more!
I WILL buy the books though because I love them! Actually I will probably buy two sets as I am thinking of framing the front covers and putting them on my wall with the immortal phrase....Raven! Raven with me! |
