I read somewhere that, now Allardyce, has gone Newcastle are now looking for their eighth manager in 11 years...
The results weren't going his way but was he really so bad that he needed to be sacked now? I reckon maybe they should have given him until the end of the season to prove himself with his best team.
Or am I talking complete rubbish? _________________ Graeme's Fantasy Book Review

I've spent a few days thinking about this. I can't see past it all ending in glorious failure. The fans in Newcastle expect too much from a team that has had oodles of money thrown at them over the last 10+ years, and have achieved nothing. I think Keegan was lured on emotion (let's face it, that's how he leads his life), and I'm convinced Mike Ashley has made this appointment as a fan, not as an owner/businessman. I'm happy to be wrong on this, but that's where I stand at the moment.

Time for me to change the name of the thread?
I'm not sure how this one will pan out but I think fair play to Mike Ashley for bringing back the feelgood factor so quickly after Allardyce left It will be interesting to see if there are any new arrivals at St James' Park before the end of the transfer window. _________________ Graeme's Fantasy Book Review

I don't think it'll end in glorious failure. I know, I'm probably bias here, but I think Keegan will do a damn good job. I'm certainly not expecting miracles immediately, but he'll add something to it.
Keegan's got the energy and love of both the club and the game that Newcastle fans have and lets face it, we're known for being rather enthusiastic
Granted that's not what'll improve our chances, but it'll certainly get things on the way towards it.
I even have my own little 'we're in heaven cos we've got our Kevin' t-shirt (It had to be bought. It really did!) _________________ "I sit on my arse, not my head." - Baron Gresse. |

And Newcastle could be playing Championship football next season!
Or could they...? What do you guys reckon? Derby look doomed and I don't fancy Fulham's chances either, who will be the third team to go down? _________________ Graeme's Fantasy Book Review

Nah, I reckon we could just keep it in the championship. We're not used to doing the Sunderland trick. They go up and down like a yoyo _________________ "I sit on my arse, not my head." - Baron Gresse. |

If we survive this one Keegan will put together an attacking side that will be the envy of everyone ( aside from the top 4 heh) !!. The defence will go to pot (moreso) but hey you cant have everything. _________________ I always knew Chang was Chinese Intelligence.

I agree with Futre on this one. Given half the chance, Keegan will see Newcastle improve vastly next season.
His defence though was never top notch the last time. The main focus always seemed to be up front, for Keegan. Still, it worked well enough last time. _________________ "I sit on my arse, not my head." - Baron Gresse. |

Surely you must be despairing slightly that Keegan hasn't yet got his attack sorted, and he has Owen, Viduka, Martins, Duff, N'Zogbia and Milner at his disposal. There must be a potential saviour in that quintet. And as a completely biased Liverpool fan, give Owen the service and he'll do the job for you.
With reference to Deornoth's query, Derby, Fulham and Bolton or Sunderland I think. Bolton have lost it at the worst time, and I think Sunderland might just have enough to stay up. _________________ If you strike me down, I shall become more powerful than you can possibly imagine. |
