One of enduringly sad things about Dave Gemmell's death is that he was absolutely on top form with the Troy books. This first one is a tremendous read, right up there with his best work.
I hear Shield Of Thunder carries on the fine work and no doubt, the third will be a fitting finale when it is completed under the skilled hand of Stella Gemmell. _________________ 'A human with a hand outstretched in friendship carries the fangs of a taipan in his palm.' A TaiGethen saying. |

I picked up Troy in the early summer having not read much Gemmell and I really enjoyed it. I bought a couple more and was really enjoying his writing. It was awful to hear about his death in the summer, but from what I've heard, I am looking forward to finishing the Troy trilogy in the future. _________________ If you strike me down, I shall become more powerful than you can possibly imagine. |
