I like the map at the back, where a glossary would be in a text book. *shrugs* but then I've read a lot of text books and so I guess that's where I expect that sort of info to be.

Well since the poll seems to have ended before I got here, i'll just say that I agree with the majority. I much prefer it at the front.

Just finished the book, only realised the map was in the back about halfway through didnt get one in the first book either so didnt expect there to be one. Confused me quite abit, because i already had an image of what i thought it would look like, and then the map changed all that!

I prefer it in the front, for obvious reasons

I like having a map, particularly in the front. Especially with a story as sweeping as that encompassing the Ascendants. Maps are tricky beasts though, and both a blessing and a curse for a writer.

It's better at the front, cos then you know the country/countries you're reading about as you go into the novel, rather than finding it the back once you've finished.

Actually, manys the time I've not realised there's been some sort of reference material until after I've finished the book, if said material is at the back. Please forgive me for following this CRAZY convention we have in the Western world of reading a book from left to right, front to back, unless otherwise instructed

I really don't care where the map is. But there should be a map. I read the german version of the book (didn't find the english version in Vienna) and the map is in the front. And it's okay where it is.

What I don't like about it, is, that it's to small, and I can't really find everything on the map (only referring to locations and events in the first book, just beginning to read the second).

What I wanted to ask is, will there be any larger map available for buying? Something like a poster? Or maybe just a pdf-map for downloading and printig yourself (if you have the nerves to use all of you printer ink )

Thanks for the link. What program is the map done with? Because i find the map in the book to be much better looking, even though smaller.
