Actually, no. Have to admit i've not read it, though i've been looking at it for a while, it just wasn't on my list of most wanted.
Film still looks cool though. lol _________________ "I sit on my arse, not my head." - Baron Gresse. |

Check out www.alagaesia.com for more details though basically Parmenion is right - I'm hoping that Eldest which is staring at me accusingly from the bookshelf will be better than Eragon, nuff said _________________ "Constant Vigilance!" |

My understanding is it's a star wars rip-off set in fantasy which his mommy and daddy got published for him - they're publishers. Nepotism at its best.
But the trailer does look good and dragons are always cool..!! _________________ Pagan Music |

Not only Star Wars, also Lord ofthe Rings , actually the quy stole from nearly every famous Fantasy/Sci-Fi-book, and in Eldestthere are several pages with descriptions of the love-life of ants apart from that it has a tragic love-story between an elf (which is a bad Tolkien-clone) and a human, a wise old guy, very evil villians (who are surprisingly related to the main character) and a lot of other stuff I've readsomewhere else much better.
No I didn't really like the book , I might watch the third part, as I always want to know the end. _________________ The question that sometimes drives me hazy: Am I, or the others crazy?

ah this is one of those that my partner has read and keeps pushing in my face telling me to read everytime i finish a book She tells me it really is very good but for some odd reason theres just something holding me back from reading it
The film looks interesting although i would want to read the book before seeing it..... _________________ "My friend, you would not tell with such high zest To children ardent for some desperate glory, The old Lie: Dulce et decorum est Pro patria mori." |

I liked the books, despite blatant rips from Tolkien, Star Wars and definately Anne McCaffery. However, it's probably impossible to write a fantasy book without drawing on something that someone else wrote, particularly when including elves. (Though James battled that one and emerged triumphant )
I will probably go and see the film but i expect to be disappointed. most films of books are disappointing; League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, Stormbreaker and Captain Corelli's Mandolin being cases in point. _________________ Taking off is optional, landing is mandatory. |

That's exactly the same with me. I keep looking at it in the shops when I have money and yet I just don't seem to have the urge to pick it up and buy it. _________________ "I sit on my arse, not my head." - Baron Gresse. |

ARGGGGGGGH! I hate it when they wreak books i like! _________________ Taking off is optional, landing is mandatory. |

Saw the trailer myself. All I'll say is, Sha-Kaan would have those dragons for breakfast. Wouldn't be enough left over even for elvenses, let alone lunch. Reckon he's five times as long at least. And meaner. And with hotter breath. And more teeth.
Love
