The obvious question but it does need asking Smile

I think I'm in a minority but I really loved Shadowheart.

That was cruel! Mine's stuck in there between Nightchild and Elfsorrow. In the end I went for Nightchild.

Elfsorrow for me. The first book I started to read was Shadowheart after it was sent to me in a bundled 'Editors Choice' from the FSF club thingy. had they never sent it, I'd not have heard of James... Shocked

Started reading it, realised there was a lot of history I needed so rodered up the first 3 and on it went from there.

Dawnthief, not just because I love the book, I love them all, but because it led to here

Demonstorm for me. Very Happy reason being it became so emotionally charged as it was coming to the conclusion.

I have to say Demonstorm for the sheer fact of that ending. To me this is what heroic fantasy adventure is about. But then... Dawnthief did start it all off. without Dawnthief we couldn't have had Demonstorm.

SPOILERS

Mine was a coin toss between Dawnthief and Elfsorrow. I love them both, but Elfsorrow won because of the elves and, IMO, one of the best written death scenes in fantasy. Oh Ilkar, why?! Crying or Very sad

NoonShade and Nightchild haven't received m/any votes, I don't think that they were any worse than the other books, I'm trying to rack my brains but I don't think during NoonShade and Nightchild that there were any major deaths (something which I think can make you even more involved with that particular book), obviously there were deaths of Lyanna and others, but none of the core raven team died. In Dawnthief there were 3 deaths of core raven, in Elfsorrow Ilkar died, in Demonstorm basically the whole raven was torn apart. In these books when members of the raven died I was drawn more and more into their world, this is something which for many people makes them "favourites". Shadowheart in my opinion was my favourite because of the battles that took place in it and I think shadowheart is moulded with elfsorrow because a lot of it revolves around Ilkar.

Just my thoughts because there are very few votes for Noonshade and Nightchild, and I don't think they were any worse than the other books.

Im a big believer in the frst book being the best, its the reason you stay with a series, can be the intorduction to the author.
The first book does not have to be the best written, it will always have the nostalgia of being the first book.
Its the reason i love Legend so much..(only just pips Lion of macedon though)

DemonStorm for me was the hardest book to read because it was the end of the series. With Nightchild i knew there was another series to follow but Demonstorm that was it.

It also didn't help that i had a defective copy which ran up to page 407 then bascally had the past 50 or so pages put in. The people from the Book Club were great and despatched me another immediately.
